Louis “Waylon” Weldon Bennett, a cherished father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 72 in Kerens, Texas. Born on April 5, 1953, in Durant, Oklahoma, he was a man of strong Christian faith who lived with an adventurous spirit and a friendly heart.
Waylon grew up in the loving care of his parents, Bill and Wanda Bennett, both of whom preceded him in death, as did his beloved wife, Carolyn Bennett. He is survived by his devoted children, Kila Bennett and Tony Bennett, and his adored grandson, Jeremy Bennett. He was also a treasured uncle to his niece, Jennifer Richie Gonzales, and nephews, Ronnie and Danny Gonzales.
An avid fisherman, Waylon could often be found at the lake with rod in hand. He had a deep love for classic cars, enjoying them at car shows and sharing his knowledge with others. A talented musician, he brought joy to family and friends through his singing and guitar playing. Exceptionally handy, he took pride in working around the house, helping with projects, keeping his lawn pristine, and collecting parts that reflected his resourcefulness and ingenuity.

His willingness to help others and his genuine kindness made him a beloved figure in his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on through the stories, lessons, and love he shared with his family and friends.
