Louis Arnold "Butch" Viehman

Louis Arnold “Butch” Viehman was born in Bonne Terre on April 13, 1953, the son of Jack A. and Josephine “Louise” (née Solomon) Viehman. He passed away at his home in Desloge on March 12, 2026, at the age of 72.

Butch retired as a Quality Supervisor for Union Pacific Railroad. He found great pleasure in playing golf and was a longtime member of De Soto Christian Church. He is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose quiet strength and steady presence touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Susan (née Snyder) Viehman; his mother-in-law Eunice (the late Marvin) Snyder of Ironton; his children Jeff (Jill) Viehman of De Soto, Michelle Viehman of Farmington, and Tara Viehman of Phoenix, Arizona; his stepchildren Aaron (the late Stephanie) Hinkley of Cadet and Stephanie Busby of De Soto; his sister Karen (Marvin) Williams of De Soto; his brother Kenneth (Leanne) Viehman of Hamel, Illinois; and his sisters-in-law Sandy (Jerry) Carosella of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Melanie (Alan) Dunham of Ironton, Missouri. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Janet (née Mackley) Viehman, and his brother Roger Viehman.
