Louella Norris ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Cornwell Funeral Home - Dardanelle on Mar. 9, 2026.Louella M. NorrisLouella McGuire Norris was born January 5, 1939 in Dardanelle to Norman Edward McGuire and Annie Ida Glenn Banks McGuire. In 1955, she married Charles Norris, and together they raised four children: Rebecca Hopkins (Jacky), Paula Phifer (BJ), Paul Norris (Coralyne), and Suzanne Easley (Randall). Over the years she enjoyed the addition of 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is survived by one brother, Raymond McGuire (Diana), and two brothers-in-law, James Norris and Johnny Norris (Marie). She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents and an infant brother.Louella was a devoted mother, spending a great deal of her time volunteering at school functions, events and classes. While raising her children, she started a weekly article for the Courier in Russellville called "Kitchen Chatter", and also covered many area events in Yell County. She attended Arkansas Tech to study Journalism, and before graduation, an opening came up at the Courier which she just couldn't turn down. Her byline appeared on articles of local interest, and as time went by, she also covered many state-wide news stories, and occasionally represented the Associated Press covering items of national interest. After a number of years, Mrs. Norris became the Editor of the Post Dispatch in Dardanelle where she shared her talents with our area until her retirement. The family would like to thank the staff at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab for all their care and love. She loved all her caregivers and their help allowed us to have her for so many years.A service will be announced at a future date.Arrangement By Cornwell Funeral Home and River Valley Cremations in Dardanelle.
