Lou Campbell ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes - Southside Chapel on Mar. 1, 2026.Phyllis "Lou Ann" Boutelle Campbell, age 94, of Lakeland, passed peacefully from this earthly life into the presence of her Heavenly Father on February 26, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice.Lou Ann was born November 4, 1931, in Lake Mills, Iowa to Ruth (Halvorson) Peterson. Of proud Norwegian heritage, she was raised on a family farm alongside her grandparents, mother, aunt, and six devoted uncles who helped shape her early life. Formed by the grit of the Great Depression and the strength of a single-mother household, Lou Ann learned resilience early.She embodied elegance without excess and class without pretense.She was baptized and confirmed at Bristol Lutheran Church and attended Bristol Township Country School. Her faith remained a steady foundation throughout her life.Lou Ann worked for many years doing clerical work through Kelly Services at Mobil Chemical. In later years, she gave generously of her time as a volunteer with Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, contributing more than 5,000 hours of service. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in the Highlands.Family was the center of Lou Ann's world. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, rarely leaving one unfinished - a reflection of the way she approached life itself. She lived fully, loved generously, and gave without counting the cost.She is survived by her son, Robert (Annette) Campbell of Lakeland, Florida; grandsons Trevor (Kristin) Campbell of Lakeland, Florida, and Ian Campbell of St. Petersburg, Florida; one aunt, Mavis Olson of Lake Mills, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Gordon Campbell; her mother, Ruth (Clifford) Peterson; six uncles - Henry, Almer, Inghart, Clarence, Arnold, and Joseph Halvorson; and one aunt, Alyce Nelson.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home in Lakeland, Florida. Lou Ann will be laid to rest with her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, in a private ceremony.Lou Ann lived a complete life - one marked by strength, grace, generosity, and enduring love.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM).To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
