Lottie Whiting ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 2, 2026.Lottie Mae (Pat) Whiting, 90, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Germantown Methodist LeBonheur Hospital in Germantown, TN. Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Forest Hill–East Funeral Home (2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN 38133) followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at the Lebanon Church Cemetery (635 Lebanon Rd, Potts Camp, MS 38639).Mrs. Whiting was born in Potts Camp, MS, on April 18, 1935, to Hugh and Mary Lee House. Growing up in a rural area, school was a very important part of her life. Friendships were made that lasted for decades. Among those were teammates on her high school basketball team, where she was chosen to be captain of the team. Her parents loved watching her games and made it a priority to be in attendance. She also excelled in the classroom and was chosen in her senior year as the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.Blessed with a close family, she embraced togetherness and time spent with her parents, sister, and brothers. This was a gift she passed down to her own children, never missing a moment to spend time with them or her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. She never missed one of her grandchildren's ballgames or church programs and jumped at the opportunity for them to spend the night with her and Papa. She and her beloved husband spent countless weekends and summer vacations boating and waterskiing on the Tennessee River in Savannah, TN, where they had a weekend home for many years, along with a trip or two to Disney World when they could.Mrs. Whiting was a godly woman who truly modeled Proverbs 31. She taught in Vacation Bible School for many summers throughout the years, pouring herself into the little ones that she taught. She loved Jesus with all of her heart, and her Bible is full of notes she took through many years of studying and listening to godly preachers. She instilled those values into her own children and grandchildren, letting them know there was nothing more important than their relationship with Jesus Christ.Mrs. Whiting was married to the love of her life, Bob (Warner), for 65 years. Faithfully, she stood by him and supported him through his career and afterwards as long as her health allowed. No one was more of a helpmeet to her husband than she was.While her children were young, she stayed at home to take care of them. As they got older, she returned to the workforce to help support the family and to help make sure her children could have things that maybe she did not have growing up.
