Lottie Jo Brown

Lottie Jo Brown, age 93, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Born on November 14, 1932, in Bailey County, Texas, to Joseph B. and Ollie Bernice (Harvey) Young, Lottie married Charles Brown on May 29, 1948. She spent many years working in the cafeteria at Highland ISD before retiring and also helped tend the family farm. A longtime member of Champion Baptist Church, she found great joy in cooking for both her family and her church community. Lottie had a gift for making everyone feel welcome; she never met a stranger and always offered a kind word.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Wayne Brown and wife Danna of Georgetown, Texas; her daughters, Doris Kay Howell of Spade, Texas, Charlotte Elaine Mifflin of Forsyth, Missouri, and Jeana Sue Brown of Colorado City, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph B. and Ollie Young, her husband Charles Brown, her granddaughter Moriah Faith Mifflin, and eleven siblings.
