Young, 92, of Effort, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Bessie W. Thompson.Lorraine worked as a nursery school teacher for most of her life. She loved children and enjoyed every moment of her career as well as caring for all the children in her family and neighborhood as they grew up. She enjoyed crafting and would make beautiful treasures out of the simplest of things. She used to sell her crafts at flea markets and later in life on the internet. Lorraine collected elephant statues and porcelain dolls. Her doll collection exceeded 600 different ones.Lorraine is survived by her sons: Victor Dodson and his wife, Nancy; Vincent Dodson and his wife, Rosalin; Marcus and Kristaina; Michael Dodson and his wife, Amelia; many grandchildren; great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother Carl Jenious and many dear friends.There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, Inc., 23 N 9th Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
