Lorraine A. Johnson, 87, passed away on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 21, 1938, at the family home in Belvidere, Illinois, she married Paul “Red” Johnson on July 20, 1959. Their love story spanned six decades until his passing in 2019.
Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest pride and joy rested in her family. She was a loyal confidante, known for her steadfast support, a pinch of stubbornness, and an ever-present sense of humor. She and Paul cherished their home away from home in St. Germain, Wisconsin, where they created countless memories through adventures that made the most of life. Her generous and kind heart extended to anyone or any animal in need, and she had no tolerance for cruelty, often reminding others that manners are free and should be used.
Becoming a grandmother and then a great-grandmother brought her immense pride. At 81, she welcomed another role as mother to her beloved little Morkie, Bella. Lorraine was a cherished friend to many and a source of endless love. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter Paula (Dave) Sherman, son Curtis (Heide) Johnson, grandchildren Danielle, Sara (Trevor), and Nicholas (Paityn), great-grandchildren Olivia and Svea, sister-in-law Gloria Dickson, numerous nieces and nephews, her beloved Bella and grandpup Zoey, bonus son Mike, adopted granddaughter Tina, special friend Raquel, and many others. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, parents George and Maude, and six siblings.
