Lorna Massey ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Edwards Funeral Home - Norwood on Mar. 5, 2026.Lorna Gwyn Kimrey Massey, 87, of Norwood, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Jon Ferguson and Richard Alexander will officiate and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 and Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.Mrs. Massey was born on March 15, 1938 in Stanly County to the late Charlie Mabon and Ruth Alexander Kimrey. After graduating from Norwood High School in 1956, she became a sales coordinator with Electrolux. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she served faithfully with the Triple L's and Sisters of Ruth Sunday School Class. Lorna loved cooking, hosting, and planning get-togethers with family and friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Neil Alexander Massey; and brother Mabon Kimrey.She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Arnold Massey; one son: Charles Massey (Anita); one brother: Bryce Lane Kimrey (Alice); one grandson: Alex Massey; and sister-in-law, Judi Kimrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank Trinity Place, Tillery Compassionate Care, as well as Donut, Sleepy and the girl who lives on Hwy 52 for their love and kindness over the last few months.The family request memorials to be made to Memorial Baptist Church c/o Building Fund: 873 Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood NC 28128.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Lorna Massey, please visit our floral store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
