Lorna L. Saylor, 81, of Russell, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born on August 8, 1944, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, to the late Charles A. Ritchie and Verna M. Martin Ritchie.
Lorna is survived by her devoted husband Thomas Saylor, her son Steven Jones and his wife Tamara of Hendersonville, Tennessee, her daughter Donna Ball and her husband Mike of Amelia, Ohio, her grandson Noah Reishman, and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
She will be remembered as a gentle and compassionate woman whose life reflected quiet strength, deep faith, and a sincere love for others. A devoted member of Advance Methodist Church, Lorna lived her faith through service and kindness. As a homemaker, she created a warm and welcoming home and was a loving and devoted wife to Thomas, with whom she shared more than 42 years of marriage filled with loyalty, companionship, and cherished memories.
Professionally, Lorna served as an executive assistant to the president of Kentucky Electric Steel, where she was respected for her professionalism, organization, and quiet leadership. She also faithfully served as the former treasurer of the Greenup County Library Board. Lorna devoted much of her time to volunteering with Community Hospice in Ashland, finding great joy in caring for others while preferring to work quietly behind the scenes. Her life was a beautiful example of humility, generosity, and service.
