Lorna Gwyn Kimrey Massey

Lorna Gwyn Kimrey Massey, 87, of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Born on March 15, 1938, in Stanly County to the late Charlie Mabon and Ruth Alexander Kimrey, Lorna graduated from Norwood High School in 1956. She worked as a sales coordinator with Electrolux and was a longtime, faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she actively served in the Triple L’s and the Sisters of Ruth Sunday School Class. She cherished time spent cooking, hosting, and gathering family and friends for warm celebrations.

Lorna was preceded in death by her son, Neil Alexander Massey, and her brother, Mabon Kimrey. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Arnold Massey; her son, Charles Massey and his wife Anita; her brother, Bryce Lane Kimrey and his wife Alice; her grandson, Alex Massey; her sister-in-law, Judi Kimrey; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the loving care she received in her final months.
