September 28, 1957— March 6, 2026
Plymouth, MA
Lori Roveto Aldrich, 68, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on March 6, 2026, in home hospice care in Duxbury, surrounded by family and loved ones after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Boston on September 28, 1957, to Kenneth and Irene Roveto, she spent her early childhood in Westwood before moving to Duxbury in 1962. A graduate of Duxbury High School, Lori earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College in 1979 and later received her M.Ed. in Special Education from Bridgewater State College. She worked as a systems analyst at New England Financial and MetLife before becoming an elementary special education teacher in the Duxbury Public Schools, where she taught for 23 years. She was known for her fearlessly positive attitude, deeply compassionate nature, and fierce embrace of all that life had to offer.
Lori is survived by her children, Natalie (Christopher) Rawson of Birmingham, UK, and Mark Aldrich of Boston; her brothers, Christopher Roveto of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Peter Roveto of Duxbury, and their families; her former husband, John Aldrich of Weymouth; and her six nieces and nephews, to whom she was a devoted aunt. She found great joy in the South Shore beaches, where she loved spending time with family and friends or simply relaxing in the sun. Her garden was another source of delight, where she carefully tended sunflowers, daffodils, geraniums, tomatoes, and basil each year.
An avid runner, Lori made many friends through her passion for fitness. She completed the Boston Marathon in 2018 and placed first in her division at Duxbury’s 2019 Turkey Trot. A dedicated member of AA since 2020, she found deep meaning in the program, particularly at First Church in Pembroke. In 2025 she received her five-year sobriety chip, presented by her son, and cherished the relationships she built with her sponsor and sponsees while helping others on their journeys. She was also a member of First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Duxbury and held a quiet appreciation for Buddhist philosophy.
