Lori Marie Schmitt

Monroe, NY

Lori Marie Schmitt, 62, of Monroe, New York, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 20, 1963, in Westwood, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Madeline Sloat.

Lori was known for her strength, warmth, and deep devotion to her family. She faced life’s challenges with resilience and courage, remaining a steady source of comfort, laughter, and support for those she loved, even during her illness. Preceded in death by her brothers John Jr. and Richard Sloat, she is survived by her sister Bonnie and brother Ronald Sloat, as well as her cherished nieces Tabitha and Brittany and nephew Dustin.

Above all, Lori’s greatest pride and joy were her daughters, who were the center of her world. She leaves behind Josette Santiago and her significant other John Savini, Chrissy Schmitt, and Nicole Schmitt and her fiancé Richie Dominguez. She is also survived by her former husband and longtime friend, Robert Schmitt. Nothing brought her more happiness than being “Mema” to her treasured grandchildren: Zachary, Chase, Aubrey, Beckham, Zoe, Julian, Zia, and Jazmine. She adored each of them beyond words, creating memories filled with love and laughter that will remain with them always.

Lori will be remembered for her caring heart, her quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family. Her spirit and the warmth of her presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
