Loretta Sue Adkins, born on March 18, 1943, peacefully passed away on March 7, 2026. A dedicated Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Loretta spent the majority of her career at St. Anthony's Hospital, where she provided compassionate care to countless patients.
She was an accomplished graduate of Columbus State, earning her Bachelor's degree, and she later went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with her Master's degree. Loretta's commitment to her profession was only matched by her love for her family and her passion for quilting.
Loretta had a remarkable knack for making quilts, often creating beautiful and warm pieces for everyone in her family. Her creative spirit extended beyond quilting; she enjoyed crafting alongside her husband, Jerry. This shared love of crafts brought them closer together and was a cherished part of their lives.
Loretta leaves behind her beloved children, Todd and Tammy Adkins, who will carry her memory forward. She was also a proud grandmother to Torrie Adkins, Brandi Childs, Eric Byrom, Colton Longstreth, and Kaylee Featheroff. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren, Mia Haase, Brayden Childs, Bryce Childs, and Preston Byrom.
Loretta is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Otis Adkins, who was her partner in life and love. She is also survived by the memories of her sisters, Frances Compton and Phyllis Jones, and her brothers, Carol, Royce, and Bill Booth, who have all passed on, leaving behind a rich tapestry of family history that Loretta cherished deeply.
Loretta Sue Adkins will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. Her spirit lives on through the quilts she made and the lives she touched.
