March 10, 1932— March 10, 2026
Levittown, PA
Loretta Rubin, a lifelong resident of Levittown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on her 94th birthday, March 10, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Rubin. Devoted mother of Carol Throne and her husband George, and Brenda Cohen and her husband Hal, Loretta was the loving Nanny of Rachel and Ron, Jared and Melissa, and Bryan and Brianna, and the cherished great-grandmother of Jaden Shai and Liam Ezra.
She was the dear sister of the late Norman Hyman and sister-in-law of the late Estelle Hyman and Rita Botel, whom she lovingly thought of as sisters. Loretta will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, who thought of her like a mother, as well as by her many friends and neighbors on Haven Road.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Loretta was known for her warmth, generosity, and exceptional cooking, which brought family and friends together for many memorable meals. An active member of Temple Shalom, she served as President of the Sisterhood and remained dedicated to her community. She worked for many years as a cafeteria aide for the Neshaminy School District and volunteered for more than 25 years at St. Mary Medical Center, where she earned VIP status in recognition of her service.
In her later years, Loretta found joy in creating ceramics and was admired for her feisty spirit and quick wit, traits that endeared her to everyone who knew her. During the last two years of her life, she was lovingly cared for by four devoted women—Lisa, Maria, Ellen, and Jackie—who became like family to her, playing games, encouraging her to eat, and treating her with the tenderness of grandchildren, especially during the final six weeks of her illness.
