Lorene Akers

We bid farewell to Lorene Akers of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 8, 2026 at the age of 83. Lorene touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her spouse Robie Akers; her parents, Clay Meade and Nancy Riley Meade; her son David Akers; and her siblings, Charlie, Sam, E. Howard, Eugene, Ray, Noah Meade, Edna Blanton, Zella Mae Salisbury and Juanita Johnson.

She is survived by: her children, Brandon Spears (Summer) of Banner, KY, Phillip Akers (Cathy) of Harold, KY, Tim Akers of Martin, KY, Tashea Goble (Lee) of Ivel, KY, Tabatha Spears of Pikeville, KY and Priscilla Akers of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (331 KY-122, Martin, KY 41649). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
