Loren Truman ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Richardson Davis Chapel on Mar. 17, 2026.With patient hands and a creative spirit, Loren Ray Truman Sr. found joy in shaping beauty from simple pieces of wood, tending the quiet life of his garden, and opening his Bible each day with a faithful heart.Loren Ray Truman Sr., 83, of Galion, Ohio, passed away at home on March 12, 2026.Born March 22, 1942, in Kokomo, Indiana, Loren was the son of Raymond and Marie (Wirick) Truman. From an early age he carried a curious and creative nature that would follow him throughout his life.Loren proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1969. After returning home, he met the love of his life, Sondra Emmons, through church. Their faith and friendship grew into a beautiful marriage that lasted 48 years, built on devotion, laughter, and unwavering love.A dedicated employee, Loren spent many years working at Ford Motor Company where he ran engine tests, bringing diligence and pride to his work each day.Outside of work, Loren expressed himself through art. He was known for his intricate and detailed wood carvings and enjoyed painting with oils on canvas. Whether crafting one of a kind carvings or caring for his yard and garden, he found peace in creating and nurturing the world around him. Loren also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sharing jokes that brought smiles and laughter to those around him.Above all else, Loren was a man of deep faith. A devoted prayer warrior, he spent hours each day in prayer from 1 to 4 p.m. and faithfully studied the Bible every morning and evening. His quiet devotion and steadfast belief were guiding forces in his life and a lasting testimony to those who knew him.Loren will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Papaw who cherished time with his family.He is survived by his loving wife, Sondra Truman; his children, Derinda Reedy, Lorena (Chuck) Albright, Loren Ray Truman Jr. (Alyssa Truman), Janna Reedy, Nathan (Jennifer) Truman, Trevor Taft, Marvada (Jeff) Asbell, Christina (Ryan) Walter, and Jeremiah Truman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Gary (Lois) Truman.He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Truman; his first wife Carolyn Marie Mills; his sons-in-law, Tom Reedy and Danny Reedy; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Xavier Hall and Gabrella Silcox.His family will receive friends Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 4-6 pm in the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, where his funeral will be Friday at 11 am.
