Grelton, OH
Lonny Ekstrand, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. Born on November 17, 1938, in Grelton, Ohio, he was preceded in death by his parents, John S. Ekstrand and Mary C. Ekstrand, and his brother James M. Ekstrand.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Lonny built a reputation as a skilled, self-taught machinist and antique car restorer. He served as a supervisor at Campbell Soup Company and later at Miller Brewery, where his leadership, reliability, and commitment to excellence earned the respect of those around him. In addition to his professional career, he was a proud business owner and entrepreneur who took great satisfaction in his work.
Above all, Lonny will be remembered for the deep love he held for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara, and together they created a life centered on family, loyalty, and love.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara; his two children; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Known to many as a wonderful husband, father, and friend—and most lovingly as “Pa”—Lonny’s kindness, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
