Lonnie Dean Clark

1961 — 2026

Tama, IA

Lonnie Dean Clark, age 64, of Tama, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home. Born on July 11, 1961, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, he was the third of five children born to Frank and Betty (Wilkinson) Clark. He attended Independence Schools and on August 11, 1979, married Robin Reed.

In his younger years, Lonnie worked at the Tama Pack, now known as Iowa Premium Beef, Indiana Dairy Production, Tama Livestock Auction, and with local Amish families. Since 1990, he had been a truck driver, first hauling grain and then for the last thirty-plus years with Siemens Trucking. Known affectionately as Rooster—a nickname whose origin remained a mystery—he took great pride in his large collection of roosters, some standing six feet tall. His true passion was trucking; when not on the road, he could often be found in his shop tinkering on his semi. A devoted Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas City Chiefs fan, he enjoyed placing playful bets with family members on game outcomes. Above all, Lonnie cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is reunited in death with his parents, Frank and Betty Clark, and his sister, Jamie Brislawn. Lonnie is lovingly remembered by his wife, Robin; his children, Nikki (Boo) Steuhm, John (Haley) Clark, and Jessica Clark (Derek); grandchildren Brodie, Kolbie, Chloee, Kingsley, Maggie, Josh, Ryder, Cohen, and Beckett; and great-grandchildren Khalil, Brodie Jr., and Brenna. He is also survived by his siblings Debbie Clark (Joe Kunz), Merna (Clyde) Bearden, and Rob (Tracy) Clark, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
