Lola Ann Jeans

August 7, 1953 March 1, 2026

Valdosta, GA

Mrs. Lola Ann Jeans, 72, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, following an extended illness. Born on August 7, 1953, in Madison, Florida, to the late David Thomas Thigpen and Lola Grace Lassiter Thigpen, she spent her life rooted in the Madison and Valdosta area, where family, faith, and music shaped her days.

A devoted member of New Victory Worship Center, Lola Ann found deep joy in serving through music. She loved playing the piano and singing hymns, gifts she shared faithfully and wholeheartedly with those around her. Music was not merely an activity but an essential part of who she was.

Above all, she cherished her family. One of her greatest blessings was being called “Nanny” by her 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is lovingly remembered by her six children: Deborah Holthus (Chris) of Lake Park, Georgia; Michael Johnson of Hahira, Georgia; George Johnson (Kayley) of Jesup, Georgia; Jamie Shaw (Chris) of Valdosta, Georgia; Tracy Johnson of Lake Park, Georgia; and Stacey Johnson of Valdosta, Georgia. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale Thigpen (Bonita), Tommy Thigpen (Marie), and Joey Thigpen, and her sisters, Patricia Gillean (Chuck) and Irma Hutchinson (Ed). She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Jeans.

Lola Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, yet her faith assures us that her song continues in Heaven.
