Lois Marie Stueven, age 80, of George, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Born on December 3, 1945, in Hull, Iowa, Lois was the daughter of Alfred and Mildred (Reyelts) Winter. Her family lived in several communities during her childhood, including Hull, Iowa, Beaver Creek, Minnesota, Boyden, Iowa, and later George, Iowa, where she graduated from George High School. Lois worked for K-Products, drove a school bus for the George Little Rock Public Schools, and later worked at a bank in George following Harold’s death. A lifelong woman of faith, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Boyden and later Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. She found quiet joy in sewing, gardening, baking, working on puzzles, mowing the lawn, and driving her bus.

She is survived by her children, Kevin Stueven of George, Iowa, Nancy (Paul) Salonia of Oxford, North Carolina, and their children Justin, Emily, and Sarah, Mark (Becky) Stueven of George, Iowa, and their children Jessy (Kaylee), Ashley, and Gregory, and Scott (Michelle) Stueven of Heron Lake, Minnesota; three brothers, Virgil Winter of Terre Haute, Indiana, Norman (Gaylynn) Winter of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Arvin Winter of Tucson, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her infant daughter Phyllis, and her brothers Dennis, Keith, and Wendell.
