Kinta, OK

Lois Marie (Mizell) Green, 82, of Kinta, Oklahoma, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Stigler. Born on March 15, 1943, to James “Monk” Mizell and Lillie Ainsworth Mizell, she graduated from Kinta High School and married her best friend and love of her life, Doy Green, on July 16, 1961. Together they made their home in Kinta and raised two daughters, Dana Bailes and Donna Carpenter.

Lois worked alongside her parents at their café in Kinta and later spent more than thirty years at Charles Komar & Sons in McAlester before retiring. She was deeply involved in her community, helping start the Kinta 4th of July Celebration, the Kinta Alumni Banquet, church Christmas programs, the Fall Festival, the Christmas parade, and countless events at Kinta First Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member. An exceptional cook, she prepared holiday meals large enough to feed the whole town and continued the family café with Doy and their daughter after her parents’ passing. She also ran a daycare in Quinton with her daughter Donna, an experience she treasured. Lois was known for her welcoming spirit, her willingness to sew for anyone in need, her beautiful flower gardens, and her love of painting rocks. She enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting with friends and neighbors, cheering at Kinta Eagles basketball games, and passionately supporting the OKC Thunder.

She is survived by her husband, Doy Green; daughter Dana Bailes and husband Jonathan of Stigler; son-in-law Bentley Carpenter; grandchildren Josh Lowe, Rachael Fisk and husband Kevin, Lensey Holden and husband Rodney, Hailey Murray and husband Josh, Jalen Carpenter and wife Ashley, and Westen Carpenter; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Vivian Mitchell and friend Rick of Midwest City, and sister-in-law Eunice Mizell of Skiatook. She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Carpenter, granddaughter Kensey Lowe, her parents, one sister, two brothers, and two sons-in-law.
