LOIS MARIE BREHMERApril 9, 1936 – March 14, 2026Lois Marie Brehmer peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 14, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by loved ones and received the gentle care of the staff at Magnolia Place and Hoffmann Hospice. Lois was preceded in death on this earth by her parents, Dorothea and Alvin Brehmer, her brother, Rev. Charles Brehmer and his wife Mary Lou. She is survived by her niece and nephews, their spouses, and her grand nephews and grand nieces.A long-time Bakersfield resident, Lois's life was marked with genuine kindness, a strong faith, twinkling eyes, and a spirit of adventure. Born in Minnesota, she became an early elementary teacher in her twenties and taught in Indiana and Florida before settling in Racine, Wisconsin where she lovingly taught first and second grade for over 20 years. She traveled to far-away places during her vacations including Japan, Lebanon, Israel, Germany, France, Nigeria, and other countries before retiring to Bakersfield. She loved reading books and every dog she ever met. Lois was a beloved aunt, a cheerful friend, a realtor, a dedicated teacher, a small business owner, and a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
