Lois Elliott ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by McNearney - Schmidt Funeral and Cremation on Mar. 12, 2026.Lois Mae (Saxton) Elliott, age 92 of Shakopee, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at The Gardens at St. Gertrude with the love of her family by her side.Lois was born in Ruthton, Mn on January 5th, 1934 the daughter of Delmar William and Martina Christina (Ronning) Saxton. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1952. She met the love of her life, Wayne Elliott, in Tracy after graduation. She and Wayne married August 8th, 1953 in California and started their family there. Lois received her license of Cosmetology while in California, although never really worked in that field, her clients were her family and friends throughout her life. A job transfer for Wayne moved them to Indiana for 6 years before returning to Minnesota in 1971. Lois held a few different jobs, the last 20+ were in the food Industry as a Buyer for Red Owl and an Administrative Assistant at Arden Kitchens. Lois retired in 1999.Lois and Wayne had a lake cabin in southwestern Minnesota next to other relatives for over 30 years. They spent every weekend in the summer at the cabin with an open door to kids, grandkids, relatives, and friends. While at the lake, Lois loved group breakfasts, potlucks, and happy hours. Lois enjoyed traveling with Wayne and in later years also enjoyed the occasional trip to the Casino.Lois always enjoyed hosting, whether it was for family gatherings, holidays, birthday parties, or her beloved happy hours. She maintained a beautiful lawn and lovely flowers, where rarely a weed could be found. She also had a vegetable garden where she grew more than they could eat. She shared the extra with friends and family. Lois was a wonderful cook, she said she learned how to cook during the time she lived with her grandma when her mom was sick.Lois's love of baking is where she took the most pride. Everything she baked she referred to as her "Goodies". Chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles, brownies, a variety of Christmas cookies. If there was a gathering, you could count on Lois to bring her goodies. Her signature goodie was her Banana Bars, many have tried to duplicate them using her recipe, but only a few have conquered. They were delicious. To our Mom and Grandma, you will be forever in our hearts, forever missed, and forever loved. She is survived by children, Steve (Sue) and Deb; grandchildren, Corey (Alyssa) and Kellie (James) Macey; great-grandchildren, Emma and Edison Macey; special family, Melanie Zinnel; sister, Norma Jean Baird; sisters-in-law, Peggy Saxton and Carol Saxton; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.Lois was preceded in death by her parents Delmar and Martina; step-mother, Mildred; husband, Wayne; siblings and in-laws, Delmar Saxton Jr, Gerald Saxton, Valorie and Robert Barwin, Hazel and Douglas Petit, and Richard Baird.A Memorial in celebration of Lois's life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:30 AM, hosted at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Ave. E., Shakopee, MN.
