High Point, NC

Lois (Joy) King Linthicum passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on February 13, 1925, to Will and Ocie King, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Margaret Blackburn, a brother Kermit King, an infant son Kerry Wayne, and an infant daughter Jane Marie.

She married William B. (Dubb) Linthicum on July 9, 1942. He passed away on June 20, 1985. Their children are Pat Carrick (Ron), Danny Linthicum (Carol), Tammye Ritter (David), and cousin Phyllis Brower (James). She is also survived by grandchildren Chad Carrick (Lynn), Dylan Ritter, Abbye Ritter Morsell (Josh), Jennifer, Jimmy, and Heather Brower, as well as great-grandchildren Kelly Carrick and Sean Morsell. She cherished her many nieces and nephews.

A longtime member of Oak View Baptist Church, Lois later married Jack Moran on December 18, 1998. Jack, a kind and caring man, passed away on October 30, 2011. Lois was known as the best there ever was, an unmatched mother who showed her deep love for family in countless ways. She found joy in tending her flowers, sewing, reading, working crosswords, playing rummy and Scrabble, visiting the beach, watching old movies, shopping, and browsing the pocketbook section. She loved all the pets that shared her life and carried a youthful spirit that endeared her to everyone. Called Joy from a young age, she truly lived up to her name and was a joy to be around, making many friends throughout her life.

Her family feels deeply fortunate to have had her for so long and will miss her greatly. They extend heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at River Landing at Sandy Ridge who cared for her and helped make her final years as comfortable as possible. As she often said, her beloved Dubb had been waiting for her a long time, and now he waits no more.
