Lizzie Saldanha ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Ryan-Parke Funeral Home - Park Ridge on Mar. 7, 2026.Lizzie Saldanha, 75, died on March 7th, 2026 at her home in Park Ridge, IL.Lizzie was born on April 18, 1950 in Jayapura, Chikmagalur District, Karnataka, India to Francis and Nathalia D'Souza where she lived with her siblings John, Stan, Jessie and Walter.She attended St. Joseph's Convent School in Chikamaglur and married her beloved Joachim Saldanha on April 15, 1974.Lizzie and Joe moved to Chicago in 1976 and settled in the northwest suburbs of Chicago where they raised their sons Jason and Steven Saldanha.She loved serving her famous pork curry and dosas, her church community, her family, and most especially being Grandma Lizzie to Jake, 13, and Ellie, 10.Lizzie is survived by her sister Jessie, brothers Stan and John, sons Jason (Robin) and Steven (Genesis) and her grandchildren Jake and Ellie Saldanha.A visitation will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ryan-Park Funeral Home, 120 S Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL 60068. The funeral mass will be at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Paul of the Cross Church, 320 S Washington Street, Park Ridge, IL 60068 followed by the burial at Saint Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Catholic Charities of Chicago.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
