Lisa Renee (Smith) Burton, age 64, of Auburn, Georgia, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on January 10, 1962, in Columbus, Georgia, to Clara Annette Smith and Joel David Smith, she grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia, alongside her brothers David Smith and Ray Smith, and her sister Melanie Smith. She graduated from Berkmar High School and later earned her nursing degree from West Georgia Technical College.
On August 1, 2000, Lisa married Jimmy Burton, and together they shared 25 loving years. A woman of deep faith, she found joy in her church community and expressed her beliefs through quiet acts of kindness and service. Compassionate by nature, she devoted her career to nursing, caring for others with genuine warmth and dedication. She also held a special place in her heart for animals and welcomed any in need into her care.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Annette Smith; her brother, Warren David Smith; and her nephew, Brandon Harper.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Burton; her daughters, Amanda M. (Trey) Perry, Alison B. Burton, and Amanda M. Black; and her son, Matthew J. (Mandi) Burton. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Buster (Cheney) Perry, Joshua (Aubrey) Perry, Lily Perry, McKenzie Burley, Addison Black, Brady (Kaitlyn) Jackson, and Brownie Burton, and a loving great-grandmother to Lenora Perry and Ellison Jackson. She is also survived by her father, Joel David Smith; her brother, Joel Ray (Debby) Smith; her sister, Melanie Smith; three nieces; two nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
