Lisa Lockard ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Iles Westover Chapel on Mar. 2, 2026.Lisa Bachman Lockard, 64, of Des Moines, IA, passed away on February 28, 2026.Lisa was born March 25, 1961, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Richard Lewis and LaVaugh Louise (Gull) Bachman. She attended school in Des Moines and graduated from North High School in 1979.She received a BBA in finance from Iowa State University and her masters was in Organizational Behavior from the University of Texas in Dallas. She became a CPA in 1989.Following her education, Lisa worked for Texas Instruments as a Corporate Trainer in Dallas, TX, from 1984-2001. During that time, she traveled extensively around the world training employees.She later returned to Des Moines and married Ted Lockard on February 15, 2006, in St. Thomas while on a cruise. Lisa was a professor at DMACC until her retirement in 2025.Lisa was a Master Gardener and enjoyed spending time tending to her plants and flowers. She was also a private pilot and loved traveling with Ted to the Oshkosh Air Show each year. Her memberships included the Audubon Society and the Experimental Aircraft Association.Lisa and Ted shared a love of travel and enjoyed many cruise adventures together.She is survived by her husband, Ted; her sister, Laura Lockard; and eleven nieces and nephews.A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Iles Westover Chapel.
