Lisa Nisbet ObituaryVisit the Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.LISA GAYE NISBETMay 2, 1963 – March 14, 2026Lisa Gaye Nisbet, 62, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on March 14, 2026, after a courageous five-year battle with a heart condition and liver disease.Lisa was born on May 2, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, to Lillian Ann Carver Nisbet and Fred Barry Nisbet III. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she grew up and graduated from Mary Carroll High School with the Class of 1981. In later years, she made her home in Houston, where she built a life filled with friendship, laughter, and adventure.Lisa spent most of her professional career in project management. She dedicated 30 years to Texas Access Controls before finishing her career with Smooth Moves. She approached her work with dedication but was well known for her personal philosophy: "I work to live, not live to work."For the past 19 years, Lisa shared her life with her significant other and devoted partner, Gary Landrum. Their relationship began with a chance meeting after a round of golf with friends, and from that day forward they were rarely apart. Gary describes Lisa as thoughtful, generous, and endlessly supportive-someone who would do anything for the people she loved.Lisa had a great sense of humor, a generous spirit, and a personality that made every gathering brighter. She was known for her kindness, her spontaneity, and for being a joy to be around. She loved tropical travel, spending time with friends on the beach, cheering for the Houston Astros, and tending to her garden. Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes until illness made it difficult for her to continue. She also had her signature style-never to be seen without her lipstick on and her hair done. In true Lisa fashion, her loved ones made sure she had her lipstick on before she was taken into the care of the funeral home.Lisa is survived by her beloved partner, Gary Landrum; her sister Denise Simpson and husband Jerry; nieces Cayleigh (Clint) Robertson, Tate (Charles) Tanner, and nephew Hunter (Tess) Simpson; great-nieces Calla and Carson; great-nephews Beckett and Declan and Hudson. She is also survived by her brother Barry Nisbet III and his daughters, Syndi Nisbet and Taylor Evans. She also leaves behind many cherished friends who were like family, including lifelong friends Janet, Mary, and Danette; sister-in-law Renee Landrum; cousins Val and Glorie; dear friends Connie, Kathie A. Kathie S., Freda, Pam and Sheila; and many other close friends throughout Houston and across Texas.A memorial service honoring Lisa's life will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service starting at 1:30 p.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life reception. Food and drinks will be provided. Resort Casual for attire. In lieu of traditional floral arrangements, plants that can be planted in her garden or sunflowers are warmly welcomed.Lisa's presence brought joy, warmth, and laughter to so many lives.
