October 29, 1960— March 4, 2026
Mesa, AZ
Lisa Compton passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026. Creating a true home—one where every person who entered felt seen, heard, and loved—was among her life’s greatest accomplishments.
Born on October 29, 1960, to Dayton and Carol Crane, she was the first of her siblings born in Arizona after the family moved from Utah. She attended Westwood High School and was part of the inaugural class at the newly opened Mesa Mountain View High School, where she participated in pom line, student government, choir, and school musicals.
Shortly after graduation, Lisa met Ron Compton. Intrigued by his quiet and mysterious nature, she built a life with him despite their very different upbringings. They married in November 1979 and shared more than 46 beautiful years together. Lisa was a patient, kind, and understanding mother and grandmother who never raised her hand or voice in anger. She expressed her love through thoughtful notes and letters, words of counsel and encouragement, and devoted care for her family.
Her capacity to nurture extended far beyond her own home. She inherited her father’s deep love for people and possessed a remarkable ability to connect with and truly understand them. In her various church responsibilities—including Primary President, Stake Relief Society President, and companion to a singles ward bishop—she faithfully sought out the one, following the Savior’s example with unwavering devotion.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her faithful husband Ron, six loving siblings, her four children—Alyson Peterson (Jon), Andrew Compton (Janie), Alex Compton (Sharla), and Aaron Compton (Brenna)—and fourteen adoring grandchildren.
