Linville Rod Balentine

Linville Rod Balentine, 90, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Rod was a longtime member of Macedonia Church of Christ and belonged to the Plumber and Pipefitters Local 760. He found great joy in fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors, embracing the simple pleasures of nature throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Balentine; his parents, Cecil and Pearl Balentine; his brothers, J.C., Burl, Earl, Bobby, and Lonnie Balentine; and his sister, Mary Gregory.

Rod is survived by his children, Rhonda Hunt (Ken), Sherry Carpenter, Jerry Balentine (Kaye), and Angie Yates (Jamie); his sisters, Nita Threet, Etta Balentine, and Rachel King; his grandchildren, Kole Balentine, Courtney McSween, Molly West, Riley Balentine, Monica LeMaster, Parker Rutland, and Lauren Yates; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
