He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Brickey and Viola Matthews Brickey; his aunt Becky; his uncle Emory Brickey; his siblings, Hershel Brickey, Callis Brickey, Lucky Brickey and Betty Brickey; and his uncle Jim Matthews.

He is survived by: his wife Susie Honaker Brickey; his children, Melissia Nikolaus (Craig), Waylon Brickey (Nicole) and Amy Brickey; his stepson Tony Honaker (Regina); his sisters, Rhonda Stanley (Bill), Violet Brickey and Tina Ross; and his siblings-in-law, Shelvia Jackson, Jim Honaker, Wanda Wilson (Junior), Diane Hess and Sandy McGlothlin (Tom). He is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home (4686 Redbud Hwy, Honaker, VA 24260). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Ketron Memorial Gardens (Lebanon, VA 24266).

He was an avid animal lover, who had many cherished pets throughout the years, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Margaret Mitchell Animal Clinic, 16222 Lee Highway, Bristol, Virginia 24202.
