Linda Ruckman Hooke Reese

Linda Ruckman Hooke Reese, 81, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Born to the late Elmer and Mary Bennett Ruckman, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Reese, her brother Samuel N. Ruckman, and her daughter Debra Reese. She is survived by her daughter Nanette West and husband Steve, son Chris Hooke and wife Hyo, daughter Barbara Dykes and husband Rodney, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren with one due in June, and one great-great-grandchild, along with many cherished friends.

Her family treasured the time spent with her and will always hold dear the wisdom she shared. Linda will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted friend, talented musician, passionate educator, and dedicated volunteer at the VA. She found joy in traveling and gave generously to others throughout her life. Despite facing many obstacles, she remained a beautiful soul who radiated positivity, her contagious laugh and endearingly silly ways leaving behind a wealth of treasured memories.

Linda was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler and attended Riverbluff Church while visiting family in Charleston.
