Piedmont, MO
Linda Rose White Townsend, 77, of Piedmont, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. Born on August 29, 1948, in Ironton, Missouri, she was the daughter of Claude and Claudia White.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her older sister, Alice White Ward, and son, Kevin Ward, both of Lake Ozark, Missouri; her daughter, Alicia Ward Macke of Wardsville, Missouri; her sister, Doris Ramsey of Piedmont, and Doris’s son, David Ellinghouse; and her brother, Wade, and his wife, Janice, of Willow Springs, along with their children, Adam, Eric, and April. She also leaves behind 14 great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply.
A graduate of Clearwater High School in the class of 1966, Linda was an active and accomplished student. She participated in band, cheerleading, choir, the Beta Club, and FBLA, and was crowned Yearbook Queen in 1965. Those who knew her remember a lovely, intelligent young woman who formed many lasting friendships.
Linda was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff, where she was baptized. Though a long illness kept her from attending regularly in later years, she remained devoted to her church family and was always received with warmth and kindness.
