Linda Marie Horwath

Linda Marie Horwath, age 75, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on October 4, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Charles Anthony and Angelina Marie (Bompiede) Denoto, she grew up surrounded by family and later found lifelong love with Russell “Rusty” Horwath. The couple shared 46 beautiful years together until his passing in 2017.

Linda’s two great passions defined much of her life: cooking and teaching. She delighted in preparing meals and entertaining, bringing joy to family and friends who cherished her wonderful food. For more than 35 years she taught Spanish, beginning at Hillside and spending the majority of her career at Medina Senior High School. The students, trips, experiences, and lasting friendships she formed there remained a source of deep happiness and warm memories throughout her life. Those who knew Linda will always remember her enduring positivity, warm smile, and the genuine way she made everyone feel welcome and loved.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Don Kopp) Horwath and Jessica (Jay) Emch; grandchildren Caitlyn, Dillon, and Emersyn; and sisters Gloria Denoto and Joanne Denoto Moore. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Russ Horwath, and her parents, Charles and Angelina Denoto.
