Linda Marie (Barker) Geesling

February 23, 1950 March 8, 2026

London, OH

Linda Marie Geesling, age 76, of London, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in the Bluebird Retirement Community.

Born on February 23, 1950, in Columbus, Linda was the daughter of Thomas L. Barker and Virginia Jones Barker. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Geesling, in 1973, and the two devoted the next 45 years to one another. In the early years of their marriage, she embraced life as a farm wife, working the land while raising and nurturing her family. Those experiences shaped the values that guided her throughout her life: hard work, deep love, and steadfast commitment to those around her.

Later, Linda worked as a secretary at Buckeye Propane, where her warm personality and dedication endeared her to many. She found great meaning in service to others, volunteering for decades with the Newport Fire Department and offering countless hours to support her community and its firefighters. Her faith was a constant source of strength; a longtime member of the Newport Global Methodist Church, she was actively involved in the United Methodist Women’s group, where she formed lasting friendships and continued her quiet work of helping others.

Linda faced life’s challenges with remarkable resilience and gratitude, most notably as the recipient of both a kidney and liver transplant. These gifts granted her additional years that she cherished deeply, living them with appreciation, grace, and quiet determination.

She is survived by her son Rob (Cheron) Geesling, daughters Jenny (Erin) All and Julie (John) Balzer; grandchildren Sammy, Katie, and Sydney All, and Adi Balzer; sisters-in-law Jaynie Barker and Gloria Ramsey; nieces and nephews Teri (Norm) Slick, Ted (Lisa) Ramsey, Susan Weed, and Kristi (Ritchie) Evans; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Bob Geesling, her brother Tommy Barker, her sister-in-law Barbara Geesling, and her brother-in-law Larry Ramsey.
