Linda Mickelson ObituaryVisit the Larkin Mortuary - Salt Lake City website to view the full obituary. On March 12th, 2026, Linda Mae Mickelson died peacefully in her sleep, exactly the way she wanted to go. She was born on May 3rd, 1939 in American Fork, Utah to David and Melba Strasburg. She was blessed to be part of a large, loving family with 10 siblings: Gordon Strasburg, Ronald Strasburg, Anne Matthews (Neal), Evelyn Sorensen (Wesley), Nancy Hansen (Gary), Mary Strasburg, Nola S. Charlesworth (Cecil), Louise S. Long (Eric), Louis D. Strasburg (Paula), and Melba S. Carling (Paul).Linda is survived by her husband Glenn, their five children: Rose (Bill), Jess, Roger (Becky), Gordon (Tori), and Joyce (Bobby); 17 grandchildren including: Nicole (Cameron), Danielle (Kade), Allison (Alex), Sean, and David, Franklin and MyKenna, Josh and Daniel, and Ashley (Ryan), Lindsey, Zackery, and Thomas; and nine great-grandchildren.Linda was the fifth of her siblings to graduate from mortality and return to their Heavenly home, where we are certain there was a joyous reunion.Linda's childhood was full of happy memories and adventures on the Strasburg family farm in Highland, Utah. Their farm was well known for its delicious watermelons, tomatoes, and other crops. People would travel from as far away as Arizona just to purchase watermelons from the Strasburg farm.Linda met her future husband, Glenn Jess Mickelson, briefly in Montana while she was serving in the West Central States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She knew right away that this was the man she wanted to marry. While hearing him speak in church, she told her companion that she was going to marry him.Within a month, Glenn left to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Florida Mission, where he was eventually assigned as a companion to Linda's cousin, Burt Rogers. While Burt was packing to leave the mission field, Glenn was pleasantly surprised to discover a postcard photograph of Linda among Burt's belongings. Glenn eagerly asked for her mailing address, and he and Linda corresponded for about eight months. Once he returned from his mission, Glenn proposed just four days later. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple two months after that.Linda has always been a woman of profound faith. She was diligent in teaching her children the gospel, and three of her children went on to serve missions as well as seven of her grandchildren. She was also a strong advocate of family history work. Linda created dozens of family scrapbooks and encouraged many family members, friends, and neighbors to start recording their family history, offering them a list of questions to help ignite their memories. As the mother of three sons, Scouting became very important to Linda. She served for 26 years as the advancement chairperson of troop 384, helping the local boy scouts earn a vast variety of merit badges, rank advancements, and ultimately helped more than 50 young men earn the rank of Eagle. Generations of young men owe their Scouting success to Linda's persistence. Linda herself earned the Wood Badge, Scouting's highest leadership training award. Our family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Aspire hospice caregivers whose compassion and gentle care brought comfort and peace to Linda in her final year. We are also deeply thankful for the family, friends, and ward members who lovingly cared for her and made it possible for her to remain in her home. Their kindness during this time reminded us of the Savior's teaching to serve one another in love and brought great peace to our family through the very end.Linda lived a life of faithful service to God and to those around her. As you remember the ways she touched and shaped your life, we invite you to serve others in the same loving, Christ-like way she did.To view Linda's service via zoom, please click on the blue tab above that says "Watch Services".Read The Full Obituary
