Linda Leigh Reynolds, 84, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on March 4, 2026, with Jackie, her beloved husband and best friend, by her side.

Linda was born on April 15, 1941, in Mexia, Texas, to L.J. and Jessie B. Ward. She grew up surrounded by a close and caring family, and she carried that spirit with her throughout her life. On November 4, 1961, she married the love of her life, Jackie Harvey Reynolds, in Goldthwaite, Texas, and together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Their love story began when Linda tripped Jackie in the hallway of Goldthwaite High. He thought she was the prettiest girl in school. From that moment on, they built a life centered on faith, family, and laughter. On a Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride, Linda and Jackie discovered the piece of land that would become their forever home. With Linda’s vision and her brother’s help, Linda and Jackie designed and built their dream home where family and friends would gather for decades to come.

Linda was a homemaker in the truest and most beautiful sense of the word. She created a home filled with music, warmth, and joy. She tended lovingly to the greenhouse Jackie built for her, enjoyed sitting on the patio watching birds and butterflies, and delighted in flowers, painting, and the beauty of God’s creation. She also cared deeply for the animals on their property—ostriches, emus, miniature longhorns, miniature horses, donkeys, and cats. She enjoyed shopping, coffee, gardening, cooking, and trying new things. She loved playing cards, and she hated to lose. She also spent thousands of miles by Jackie’s side, riding shotgun for Jack’s Transport. Linda was happiest when she was with him. She was a talented seamstress who made prom dresses and Halloween costumes from scratch, and an artist whose creativity touched every part of her life.

Her faith was her foundation. Linda was a godly woman who shared her faith openly and gently, letting God’s light shine through the way she served others. She and Jackie taught three-year-olds in Sunday School for 33 years at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. She also taught Vacation Bible School and served as a Brownie troop leader, investing her time and heart into the lives of children and her community.

Linda had a unique gift for celebrating life and turning ordinary moments into occasions. She believed life’s moments—big and small—were worth honoring. She especially loved hosting. Holidays, birthdays, parties, family dinners, and casual afternoons at home all became memorable in Linda’s hands.

Linda’s family was her great joy. She was a devoted mother to her two beloved daughters, Leigh Ann Pierce and husband Rex of Boerne, Texas, and Julie Lynn Suggs and husband Terry of Trophy Club, Texas. She was deeply invested in her daughters’ lives, always cheering them on and finding ways to make them feel special.

Linda also poured herself into her grandchildren, creating fun and magical moments with tea parties, paper-plate sewing projects, jewelry-making, baking, and gingerbread houses. She was playful, engaged, and wonderfully thoughtful. She was a grandmother who made childhood feel especially bright.

She leaves behind four treasured grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Byron Pierce and wife Cristina of Boerne, Texas, and their sons, Logan and Mason; Amy Callaway and husband Clay of Boerne, Texas, and their children, Kennedy and Rhett; Hailey Suggs of Austin, Texas; and Amanda Brown and husband Blake of Franklin, Tennessee.

Linda is also survived by her younger brother, Jimmy Ward and wife Penny of Abilene, Texas. She and her brother shared a lasting closeness. When Linda married Jackie, the ninth of ten children, she also joined his large and loving family, whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.J. and Jessie B. Ward. She was a deeply devoted daughter, and she adored them.

Linda faced challenges with extraordinary courage. A breast cancer survivor of more than 20 years, she met every season of her life with strength, dignity, and unwavering grace.

She was stylish and creative, and her beauty shone both inside and out. With her striking baby blue eyes, kind spirit, and warm heart, she made everyone who entered her home feel like family. In her final chapter, those who cared for Linda often remarked on how warm and welcoming her home felt, a true reflection of the woman herself.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hendrick Hospice and Visiting Angels for their compassionate care and kindness.

Linda will be deeply missed, and her memory will remain a lasting gift to all who knew her.
