Mechanicsville, MD

Linda Lee Pomerleau, 74, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, died on March 6, 2026, at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, surrounded by her family. Born on December 28, 1951, in La Plata, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James Carroll Welch and the late Mary Lucille Welch.

For many years Linda devoted herself to her family as a homemaker and stay-at-home mother, creating a home filled with warmth and love. When her children reached middle school, she returned to work as a cashier at Korner Karryout, remaining there until the fall of 2000 when she left to care full time for her two grandsons, Garrett and Dylan. In later years she worked as a cashier at Food Lion in Charlotte Hall, where her kindness and friendly nature endeared her to customers and coworkers alike until her retirement in 2021.

Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending her flower beds, relaxing on her swing, and spoiling her two cats, Monk and Moses, who brought her constant comfort. Above all, she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren, speaking of them always with love and admiration. Her generous heart and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Katrina McDonald of Port Tobacco, Maryland, Andrea Pomerleau (Cecil) of Clements, Maryland, Armand "Buster" Pomerleau, III (Angela) of Mechanicsville, Maryland, and Armanda Engler (Jared) of Orlando, Florida; eight grandchildren, Ian, Garrett, Destiny, Logan, Dylan, Brett, Nolan, and Breslin; one great-grandchild, Hadley; and her sister, Mary Shaffer of La Plata, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Armand Gerard "Butch" Pomerleau, II, who died on October 24, 2022; her brother, Johnny Cecil Welch; and her sisters, Dorothy Cecilia Spinks and Catherine Victoria Oliver.
