Linda Gayle Smith

Linda Gayle Smith, age 79 of Kingsbury, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on February 9, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana, to Georgia May (Lannert) and Dorris Willard Ghormley, Linda lived a life marked by quiet dedication and deep family devotion.

For 18 years, Linda worked at Texas State University. She shared 54 years of marriage with her loving husband, James W. Smith, and cherished the roles of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sherry Dominguez. Linda is survived by her son, Michael Peoples and his wife Rosemary; her daughter, Laurie Ann Rathgeber and her husband Charles; grandchildren Christine, Ashley, and Kameron; and four great-grandchildren, Lyla Belle, Meadow Anastasia, Elowyn, and Elena, along with other loving family members and friends.
