Delaware, OH

Linda Tudor, of Delaware, Ohio transitioned peacefully to join her end-of-life partner, Frank on Monday, March 2 at 6:46 pm.

Linda was a strong woman. She overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles throughout her lifetime. She successfully navigated and survived: single motherhood of a precocious and stubborn daughter; The Blizzard of ‘78 without cigarettes; being the Tri-Delta Sorority House Mom to entitled co-eds on Ohio Wesleyan's Campus; the surgery to repair peripheral vascular disease that had occluded the circulation to both of her legs simultaneously; and she beat cancer, of the Stage IV Bone Metastasis variety, just to name a few. However, most knew her as stoic and witty, kind and thoughtful. She always had a bag of peppermint patties in her purse for the nurses at the infusion center. She donated to animal shelters, battered women's shelters and the Free store in Delaware whenever she could. She was never without a box of tic tacs, and there was always a candy dish of M&M’s on her coffee table. She could never ever pass up a bargain. In the end, it was renal failure that caused her body to fail her.

She was preceded in death by her partner, Frank Hamilton, Jr.; their love and understanding of each other was so complimentary it made both of their end of life’s worth living. Also preceded by: her parents: William Lloyd & Sarah Angeline (Glass) Riddle; her siblings: Brenda (Riddle) Roberts and Timothy Riddle; and her niece: Stephanie Riddle.

She is survived by her daughters: Carla Champion, Frances-Jo Hamilton and Jessica Mathews; and son, Kenneth Hamilton. Bonus grands: Zanab, Marissa, Emma and Reagen Pendrey. Sibling: Larry (Shirley) Riddle. In-laws: Robert “Shorty” Crosgrove, Gary Roberts, Sr.; Mary Ann (Melnyk) Riddle, and Sandra (Hamilton) Burnside. Nieces & Nephews: Gary “Hoser” Roberts, Jr. Debora (Roberts) Carter, Jacklyn (Roberts) Wilson, Randy Roberts, Andrea Riddle, Matthew (Stephenie) Riddle and Kathlyn Riddle. Her parents being from southern Kentucky, her first cousins are loved but also too numerous to mention individually.

Linda was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 29, 1947. Despite the math skills she acquired at Northwood Schools, Class of ‘65, she stopped counting at 77 years young. Stating, “77 was a good number to stop on!”

No funeral services are planned per her wishes. Memorial Celebrations are being planned in Delaware, and Toledo, Ohio on May 30th and 31st, respectively. Details to follow. If so inclined, donations may be made in her honor to any of the following charities: The National Kidney Foundation, The National Alzheimer’s Association, or The American Cancer Society.

She is soaring free with our ancestors and will always be watching over all of us, her physical presence shall be missed.
