Linda Faye Newsom McCutcheon

Linda Faye Newsom McCutcheon, 81, of North Richland Hills, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on November 2, 1944, in Brownfield, Texas, to Gordon Murl Newsom and Faye Maurine (Lloyd) Newsom, Linda grew up dividing her time between living with her mother in several places before settling in Midland and spending cherished summers with her father in Brownfield.

She graduated from Midland Lee High School in 1963. On June 20, 1964, she married Edward L. McCutcheon, and together they raised three children. A lifelong member of the former First United Methodist Church of Brownfield, Linda worked for many years in real estate and insurance while making her home in Brownfield until 1998. She then moved to Lubbock, where she continued her career in the health care industry, before relocating in 2020 to North Richland Hills to live with her daughter.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Maurine Newsom; her grandson, Michael Lloyd Matherly; and her sister, Myrna Dodd. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Matherly and Paige (Travis) Brown; her son, Lance (Hollie) McCutcheon; five grandchildren, Trenton Brown, Melissa (Thomas) Schulz, Trevor (Amy) Brown, Matthew Matherly, and Hannah McCutcheon; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Tommy (Melody) Newsom.

A private burial will be held at Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
