Linda Carrol Brady

1946 — 2026

Seagrove, NC

Linda Caviness Brady, 79, of Seagrove, passed away on March 15, 2026 at the Randolph Hospice House. Born on July 9, 1946 in Randolph County to Floyd Quincy Caviness and Mary Ellen Needham Caviness, Linda worked for many years as a hairdresser. In 1969 she opened her own shop, Linda’s Hair Fashions in Erect, where she welcomed people from across the community to share stories, laughter, and conversation while she skillfully trimmed, colored, or permed their hair. Her talent for making others look and feel beautiful and confident was matched by her generous spirit; she volunteered with Look Good Feel Better, helping cancer patients find wigs and comfortable headwear, and continued traveling to homes, nursing facilities, and funeral homes to care for her customers until her own health declined.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend, Linda was known for her warm blue eyes and her genuine willingness to listen and help. She took great pride in her family and church history research, which enriched the church library and created a welcoming seating area for gatherings. Her kitchen was a place of abundance where she prepared cherished chicken pies, sourdough bread, fruit cakes, and homemade fig and strawberry preserves, always sharing generously with others. She approached life with energy, passion, and a playful fire that inspired those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Caviness. Linda is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lavan Brady of the home; daughter, Angie Brady-Daniels and husband Ken of Manteo; grandchildren, James Brady Daniels and wife Lauren of Glen Allen, Virginia, Amanda Carver and husband Jeff of Manteo, and Courtney Daniels of Manteo; great-grandchildren, Bennett Daniels, Aubrey Daniels, and Callie Carver; brother Tony Caviness of Myrtle Beach; sister, Susan Denise Carr of Greensboro; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Caviness of Seagrove, Sarah Brady and Claudette Brady, both of Asheboro; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
