Lillian Stromberg

Lillian (Lil) M. Stromberg, 84, of East Gull Lake, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 15, 1941, in Brainerd, Lil was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and strength touched everyone she met. She dedicated her life to caring for others and created a home filled with laughter and love. An enthusiastic hostess, she delighted in hosting holidays and parties, always setting the perfect table with decorations and dishes for every occasion.

After meeting her husband Jerry, Lil embraced a life of adventure. Together they snowmobiled across Minnesota, sailed the Great Lakes, and embarked on their greatest journey aboard their boat “Quality Time,” sailing from the United States to the Caribbean. When they retired from the sea, they toured the United States in their fifth wheel before discovering Enchanted Acres in Florida, where they spent every winter for the next 21 years. They also enjoyed traveling through Europe.

Lil is survived by her husband Jerry; her mother Mable; siblings Val (Jim), Tom (Angella), and Char (Stan); her children Doug (Lili) and Lynn (Pete); and four stepchildren, Darla (Bruce), Junell (Roger), Nancy (Patrick), and Byron. She leaves behind 33 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Tom.

Lil’s family will carry forward her legacy of love and laughter by taking trips, hosting parties, and letting a little of their crazy shine into the world. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Salvation Army, or a charity of one’s choice.
