Born September 8, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York, Lillian lived a life filled with purpose, humor, and strong family values.
Lillian's career as the owner of her own medical billing and collections business showcased her meticulous nature and dedication to her work. With a solid education, including high school graduation and a certification as a midwife, she exemplified a lifelong commitment personal growth and service to others.
A robust woman with a great sense of humor, Lillian was deeply cherished by her family and friends. She took immense pride in her role as a mother, successfully raising her nine children: Robert Pope, Anna-Marie Taylor, Roger Pope, Russell Pope, Raymond Pope, Michael Pope, Teresa Donihue, and Jean Thompson. The love she had for her family was apparent in all that she did, particularly during the holidays when she enjoyed cooking for her loved ones.
In addition to her family, Lillian found joy in various hobbies and interests. She loved cooking from her treasured recipes, engaging in beadwork and ceramics, and immersing herself in books. Lillian also delighted in watching the play of Phoenix sun's basketball team , a simple pleasure that brought her great peace.
Lillian was surrounded by a large and loving family, including numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Anthony Pope, and her son Richard Pope and 2 grandsons David and Avin Pope. These losses were significant, yet Lillian's strength and love for her family remained unwavering throughout her life.
As a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many, Lillian M. Pope will be remembered with deep respect and fondness by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and life lessons will continue to inspire those who carry her memory in their hearts.
