She was born May 12, 1928, in Orland, Indiana, to Harvey and Eula (Helme) Snowberger.Lillian lived a long life filled with love, faith, hard work, and deep devotion to her family. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1946 and went on to dedicate 30 years of service to the State of Michigan Social Services Office. Through her work, she touched the lives of many individuals and families with her compassion and caring nature.Lillian was blessed with two great loves in her life. She was married to her first husband, Marston Dixon, for 50 years until his passing, and later shared 15 wonderful years with her second husband, John Mahoney. Both marriages were filled with companionship and love.Family meant everything to Lillian. She was the loving mother of Mary (Rob) Miller and the proud mother of the late Theodore Dixon. She also shared a special bond with her daughter-in-law, Margaret Dixon. Her family continued to grow with grandchildren Eric (Crystal) Dixon, Nicole (Ernie) Bouchard, Andrew (Kelly) Dixon, Todd Hovey, Kellie Blackwell, and Rachel Miller. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter who brought her endless pride and happiness.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Marston Dixon and John Mahoney; her son, Theodore Dixon; and her brothers, John, George, and Ralph Snowberger. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her kindness, warmth, and thoughtful spirit.Lillian enjoyed the simple joys of life. She was a talented seamstress who loved sewing, enjoyed playing cards with friends, and was always eager to try and share new recipes. She loved watching football and rarely missed a game, and she enjoyed time spent on the golf course. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she regularly attended St. Mary Church in Tampa, Florida. She was also an active member of the American Legion, Eagles, and AMVETS, where she enjoyed the friendships and sense of community.Those who knew Lillian will remember her for her warm heart, her quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. She found joy in family gatherings, laughter with friends, and the everyday moments that made life special.A memorial visitation will be held at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt/Delhi Chapel, on Thursday, March 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Legion Holt Post 238, 1785 Cedar St., Holt, MI 48842.Lillian will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the family and friends who were blessed to know and love her."Her family will forever cherish the love, laughter, and wisdom she shared throughout her life.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
