Lillian J. Romano

Lillian J. (DeLong) Romano, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of Michael J. Romano Sr., with whom she shared 36 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 1993.

Born in Tilden Township, Lillian was the daughter of the late Alfred M. H. and Sallie C. (Epler) DeLong. She worked as a teacher’s aide for the Berks County Intermediate Unit from 1976 until her retirement in 1993. A longtime member of Mohrsville Church of the Brethren, she formed many lasting friendships there. Lillian found joy in dancing, listening to live country music, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and matching wits with her favorite television programs, especially Jeopardy!. She was also a gifted cook who warmly welcomed family and friends around her table.

She is survived by her son, Michael Romano Jr., seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons Roger and Allen, and her 11 siblings, as she was the youngest of the family.
