Lillian Armetria Freeman

Lillian Armetria Freeman, 78, of Aberdeen, Mississippi, was born on March 24, 1947, in Monroe County and passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. She spent her career as a Nurse Assistant at Northshore JLS, where she cared for others with deep compassion and kindness.

Beyond her professional life, Lillian was revered as both a Church Mother and State Mother, roles that reflected her steadfast faith and her generous commitment to her community. She touched many lives through her guidance, support, and quiet strength.

She is survived by her brothers Lorniza Freeman, James Freeman, Lester Freeman, and Thomas Freeman, and her sisters Carrie Gibson, Shirley Diggs, and Linda Meadows. Her nurturing spirit and the values she lived by remain a lasting gift to her family.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt Freeman and Mable Word-Freeman.
