Gilderman was born December 31, 1924, in Proctor, Minnesota, to William and Anna (Wagner) Moran. She died Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the age of 101 at Inter-Faith Care Facility under the care of St. Croix Hospice. As a young girl, Lil loved playing with her three best neighborhood friends, a special friendship that lasted their entire lives. She was a majorette for the Proctor High School band and enjoyed ice skating and singing - sometimes even performing over the loudspeaker at the rink. She especially loved a young boy named Art. After graduating from high school, Lil worked at the Ore Docks in Duluth until Art returned home from World War II.Lil and Art were married on July 14, 1945. They shared almost 73 years of marriage before Art passed away on her 93rd birthday. They loved spending time together – square dancing, camping in their adorable camper, and taking daily walks.Lil worked at the Carlton Nursing Home for 35 years, where she loved caring for the residents and treasured the many friendships she made.A wonderful cook, Lil spoiled her family with delicious home-cooked meals and freshly baked cookies, bars, and pies. She was a gracious hostess who loved visiting with friends over a cup of fresh coffee and something sweet. Lil especially loved when family came to visit and treasured the time her granddaughters spent with her. The backyard swing and screen house were favorite gathering places and hold a special place in our hearts.Preceding Lil in death were her parents; her husband, Art; a son, Bobby Gilderman; an infant daughter; a son-in-law, Mike De Sciscio; six brothers, Ed, John, Frank, Wilbert, George, and William Moran; and a sister, Margaret Ahlin.Lil is survived by her daughter, Sandra De Sciscio of Rothschild, WI; her son, David Gilderman of Minneapolis, MN; her granddaughters, Tara De Sciscio-Fussell (DeLosse) of Middleton, WI and Melissa Krasowski (John) of Wasau, WI; and her great-grandchildren, Ashley Krasowski of Knoxville, TN, Gianna Fussell of La Crosse, WI, Adam Krasowski of Madison, WI, and Michael Fussell of La Crosse, WI.Lil was a member of the Presbyterian Church, where she coordinated funeral meals for several years. She was above all, a beloved wife, wonderful mother, and very cherished "Grandma Mom."Lil's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Inter-Faith Care Facility and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate and loving care they showed Lil and family for almost ten years.Rest in peace, beautiful Mom.A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet at 10 am, followed by the funeral service at 11 am.
