Lilia Reed ObituaryVisit the Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory - Spokane Valley website to view the full obituary.Lilia Faye Olson ReedLilia Faye Olson Reed was born on March 8, 1956, in the springtime which she loved so much. Surrounded by lilies and the beauty of the season she cherished, she passed peacefully on March 10, 2026-70 years and two days after her birth. Spring and lilies seemed to repeat her name.Lilia was raised in a lively family of seven children, the fifth in the family, and was lovingly guided by a devoted mother. Her brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles affectionately called her "the jolly one." She grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and for a time lived in Pullman, Washington, while her mother completed her teaching degree. Those years were filled with adventures that Lilia loved to remember and share.Even from a young age, Lilia was known for organizing and helping. Her mother often called upon her to assist with many things around the home and family. Her mother as she got older called upon her to add order to her home. She carried that same willingness to serve throughout her life.As a young adult, Lilia chose to serve the Lord. She was called as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in Oklahoma. She returned home in 1979 with a deepened testimony and love for people. While visiting her sister Betsy and brother-in-law Peter, Lilia attended a young adult gathering at church where she met Tom Reed. Their love quickly grew, and they were married in January 1980 in the Idaho Falls Temple.Together they built a life filled with faith, family, and devotion. They purchased a home on Queen Street in Newman Lake WA where they spent most of their married life together. Lilia was a sweet and caring mother who lovingly helped raise five children: Justin, Cambria, Lawrence, Rayce, and Raelyn. Her joy multiplied as she became Grandma to ten beloved grandchildren, who brought great happiness to her life. Her siblings adored her.Lilia was also known for her creativity and thoughtfulness. She loved making cards-partly to express her creativity, but mostly to cheer others and spread joy. Many people were blessed by her kind gestures, thoughtful notes, and small gifts given or sent simply to remind them they were loved. Her compassion reached far beyond her own family. She quietly helped many people during difficult moments-during illness, times of hardship, or near the end of life. She had a special gift for noticing when someone needed comfort and offering support, encouragement, or a simple act of kindness.Lilia's faith was the foundation of her life. She had a deep testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and found peace and joy in worshiping in the temple. She believed strongly in eternal families and treasured the knowledge that family relationships continue beyond this life. She also loved to walk and worked hard to care for her own health. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with lung cancer, which she faced with courage and quiet strength.Lilia will be deeply missed by so many-her husband, her children, her grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives she touched with kindness and compassion. While our hearts feel the loss, we take comfort in knowing heaven has gained another angel.Just as the lilies bloom again each spring, the love and joy Lilia shared will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
